• Offers full-duplex, point-point, serial and synchronous communication

• Uses two physical channels

• Generally used as trunk lines, to connect NT2 or PBX to LE

• Has two standards, namely T1 PRI (1.544 Mbps) and E1 PRI (2.048 Mbps)
